“Ryan Gallagher has proven his ability to focus on getting results instead of playing partisan games. He is the type of independent, effective leader that the people of Bucks County expect in their elected officials.”

NEWTOWN, PA – Ryan Gallagher, Republican candidate for State Representative in the 31st District, announced today that he has earned the endorsement of former Pennsylvania Governor Mark Schweiker.

Schweiker rarely endorses political candidates since leaving the Governor’s office, which makes this action even more significant.

Schweiker’s roots in his native Bucks County run deep. He began his political career here as an elected township Supervisor, then County Commissioner. Schweiker was then elected Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania and became Governor when Tom Ridge was named as our nation’s first Director of Homeland Security. Schweiker earned global recognition in 2002 as Governor for his handling of the Quecreek Mine rescue.

“Ryan Gallagher has proven his ability to focus on getting results instead of playing partisan games. He is the type of independent, effective leader that the people of Bucks County expect in their elected officials,” Schweiker stated. “There in no doubt that Ryan will be a strong voice as Representative, making a positive impact on issues important to local families and seniors.”

Gallagher, who has served four years as a Newtown Township Supervisor, including as Chairman in 2015, will bring to Harrisburg a unique skill set enabling him to build common ground on vital issues such as job creation, responsible budgeting, education, and more.

“I am honored that Governor Schweiker has joined our team and endorsed my campaign. The fact that someone who is so well known, trusted, and respected by the people of the 31st District is supporting my candidacy sends a strong message to voters as to what kind of Representative I will be for them.”
